registration: 28 officers trained in Bafoussam on Cameroon\u2019s new civil status law"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>From May 4 to 8, 2026, twenty-eight civil registration officers and secretaries from three divisions of Cameroon\u2019s West Region are undergoing training in Bafoussam under the Record Project.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>&nbsp;<\/h2>\n<h2>Regional civil registration training in Bafoussam<\/h2>\n<p>A five-day capacity-building workshop is taking place in <strong>Bafoussam<\/strong>, bringing together <strong>28 civil registration officers and secretaries<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The participants come from the <strong>Menoua, Mifi and Bamboutos divisions<\/strong> of the West Region.<\/p>\n<p>The training focuses on effective implementation of <strong>Cameroon\u2019s new civil registration law<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>&nbsp;<\/h2>\n<h2>Strengthening compliance with the new legal framework<\/h2>\n<p>The workshop aims to improve participants\u2019 understanding of the <strong>legal provisions governing civil registration<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Key areas covered include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>issuance of compliant civil status certificates;<\/li>\n<li>proper record keeping;<\/li>\n<li>adherence to new administrative procedures.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The goal is to enhance the reliability and quality of civil registration services at the local level.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>&nbsp;<\/h2>\n<h2>A training programme under the Record Project<\/h2>\n<p>The initiative is organized by the <strong>Ministry of Decentralization and Local Development<\/strong>, in collaboration with the <strong>National Civil Registration Bureau (Bunec)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>It is supported by the <strong>French Development Agency (AFD)<\/strong>.<br \/>\nThe session marks the <strong>launch of a broader series of trainings under the Record Project<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>&nbsp;<\/h2>\n<h2>Supervision by project officials<\/h2>\n<p>The workshop is led by <strong>Brice Gabin Kamdem Kouam<\/strong>, Director of Legal Affairs at the ministry.<\/p>\n<p>He is supported by <strong>Esther Edima<\/strong>,
