Regional meeting focused on project maturity<\/h2>\n

The meeting was held on May 12, 2026, at the Governor\u2019s Office in Bafoussam.
\nIt was chaired by the Regional Governor and brought together administrative officials and technical experts.<\/p>\n

The Regional Delegate of the Ministry of Economy, Planning and Regional Development (MINEPAT) provided technical guidance in line with current regulatory requirements.<\/p>\n

New regulatory framework highlighted<\/h2>\n

Discussions focused on three main areas.
\nOfficials reviewed the regional project bank, examined the regulatory decree of June 17, 2025, and assessed nine regionally managed projects.<\/p>\n

The decree requires detailed feasibility studies before any project is included in public investment programs.<\/p>\n

Projects are now clearly divided between locally managed initiatives and those overseen by sectoral state services.
\nThis approach aims to strengthen accountability and improve execution at the local level.<\/p>\n

Governor calls for accountability<\/h2>\n

The Governor urged prefects to ensure effective coordination of departmental project committees.
\nHe also stressed that mayors must attend project maturation sessions in person.<\/p>\n
