Bayangam: Mrs Tsobeng Rose Minette Officially Takes Over as Principal of Bilingual High School

Mrs Tsobeng Rose Minette née Fofié Mbouedia has officially assumed duties as Principal of Government Bilingual High School Bayangam, Koung-Khi Division, West Region of Cameroon. She was installed on April 27, 2026, during a ceremony chaired by the local administrative authority.


Official handover ceremony

The esplanade of Government Bilingual High School Bayangam hosted the official handover ceremony on April 27, 2026, under the chairmanship of Mr Mfopou Aliyou, Senior Divisional Officer for Bayangam Subdivision.

The event drew a large audience, including education officials, school heads, colleagues and relatives, reflecting the importance attached to the leadership transition.


Appointment backed by ministerial decision

Mrs Fofié Mbouedia’s appointment follows Decision No. 122/26/MINESEC of April 16, 2026, signed by the Minister of Secondary Education, Professor Nalova Lyonga.

She takes over from Mrs Magakoutanou Hortense Noëlle, who has been transferred to head Bangoua High School in Ndé Division.


A solid professional background

A graduate of the Higher Teachers’ Training College (ENS) Maroua, Mrs Fofié Mbouedia brings extensive field experience gained across several regions of Cameroon:

  • South-West Region: Government Technical High School Alou (Lebialem)
  • West Region: Baleveng High School (Menoua) and Bilingual High School Bandja (Haut‑Nkam)
  • Littoral Region: Former Head of School Guidance Services at Nyalla High School, Douala III

Focus on discipline and academic excellence

Her appointment comes at a time when the education sector faces growing concerns over school discipline and security.

Mrs Fofié Mbouedia has outlined key priorities, including:

  • combating school violence,
  • promoting ethical behaviour,
  • and strengthening academic guidance and discipline.

Her goal is to position Government Bilingual High School Bayangam as a centre of academic excellence in the West Region.
